Earlier this week the award-winning documentary based upon our book, Everybody Matters, premiered at a historic movie theater near Barry-Wehmiller corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. More than 250 people showed up to view the story of Barry-Wehmiller’s transformation from traditional business into a thriving, global, people-centric organization on three of the Chase Park Plaza Cinemas’ big screens.
The opening of the film features a number of engaging school-age children who answer the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Their precious responses underscore a central theme of the film: everyone deserves to work in an environment where they feel safe, cared for and free to become all they were meant to be.
The children featured in the film, students at City Garden Montessori Charter School in St. Louis, MO, received Oscar-like statues for their “starring” roles. Barry-Wehmiller team members and special guests raised more than $7000 for the school, in thanks for the students’ special contributions.
Watching our story unfold on the big screen among our BW family and friends was a real treat. Everywhere the documentary is shown, people relate to its message of hope and we remain determined to share it with as many people as possible. After all, don’t we all want our children and grandchildren to someday work for a company like Barry-Wehmiller?
