Last May, the Conscious Capitalism organization put together a “Sight Visit” of CEOs and business leaders to our BW Papersystems location in Phillips, WI. That visit also coincided with a visit of business school students that I wrote about in a previous blog post.
As Conscious Capitalism put it, the idea was to “harness the experience and know-how of practicing Conscious Capitalists and share it with a wider community of practitioners.” These leaders had the opportunity see how Truly Human Leadership not only impacts our business, but the people who are within our span of care.
One of the attendees, Kris Schaeffer, has been transforming organizational cultures for more than 40 years. Kris recently wrote a blog post for Conscious Capitalism’s website.
In it she says: “Today, I work with Conscious Capitalists to convert their vision and values into operational practices. ‘Values are exhibited in behaviors.’ We use this model for change: The organization inspects leadership, structure, and process; while the individual level looks at people, tasks, and rewards. When these levers are aligned toward the company’s values, the right actions occur. The Barry-Wehmiller sight visit confirmed this.”
We’re very grateful for Kris’ reflections on her visit and we’d like to share her full post with you. Click here to read.
