Group President, Packaging
In her role as Group President, Packaging, Carol leads efforts to enhance the alignment and capabilities of the six divisions within the Barry-Wehmiller Packaging Platform: Accraply, BW Container Systems, Hayssen Flexible Systems, Pneumatic Scale Angelus, Synerlink and Thiele Technologies.
Drawn to Barry-Wehmiller’s culture and values, Carol joined the organization in 2014 to serve as Vice President of Strategy, Technology and Key Initiatives. In this role, she facilitated the examination of the company’s long-term strategy, and the organizational and technical infrastructure to support this strategy.
Prior to Barry-Wehmiller, Carol developed an impressive background in leadership, manufacturing and packaging, as well as consulting and information technology. After working for a management consulting firm in Boston and leading productivity improvement efforts at the New York City Transit Authority, Carol entered the packaging world as Director of Performance Improvement at Sealed Air. In her 11 years there, she also served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development, among other roles. Carol left Sealed Air to run a $300 million private food company in Chicago and was enticed back into the packaging industry to run the packaging division at Spartech Corp. (acquired by PolyOne Corp. in 2013).
Carol has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and master’s degrees in business administration and international economic development from Stanford University.
