The Ukrainian Ministry of Health estimates that 18 million people have been affected by Russia’s invasion, 12 million of whom need urgent humanitarian assistance. CEO Bob Chapman wanted to provide a way for team members to support relief efforts, so we're partnering with International Medical Corps , an organization on the ground in Ukraine working with health agencies and local partners to provide relief services. STAX Technologies celebrates 20th anniversary

STAX Technologies, part of the BW Converting Solutions platform, is celebrating 20 years. The tissue paper packaging company was founded on February 18, 2002 in Čačak, Serbia . To honor the anniversary, the STAX team made a commemorative video to share with team members and customers around the world.

Envista saves Wisconsin brewery over $300,000 after tank implosion

Envista Forensics, part of the Cor Partners platform and a global leader in providing comprehensive forensic consulting, recently dispatched their Equipment Loss engineers to inspect an imploded fermentation tank at a brewery in Wisconsin. Not only was their investigation a time-saving measure, but a major money-saving measure.

BW Packaging Systems (BWPS) aligns Hema fillers with Synerlink

Two BWPS companies, Hema and Synerlink, recently aligned to strengthen their position as leaders in rigid, eco-friendly packaging solutions to the global food and beverage markets. Hema, which previously operated as a brand under Pneumatic Scale Angelus, another BWPS division, will bring rotary filling solutions to Synerlink’s equipment portfolio.

Sustainable packaging alternative made on BW Papersystems machine

BW Papersystems in Stuttgart, Germany,

and Storopack, a specialist in protective packaging headquartered in Metzingen, Germany, partnered to design and build an industrial paper machine to manufacture PAPERbubble®, eco-friendly, perforated sheets made of paper and air. This innovative, 100% recyclable alternative to traditional bubble film helps further BW's journey toward more sustainable packaging solutions in manufacturing.

For International Women's Day, which falls annually on March 8, let's pay tribute to Lillie Wehmiller, former BW President

In 1927, after the passing of her husband, Alfred Wehmiller, Lillie became President of Barry-Wehmiller. Under her leadership, the organization was granted two patents, introduced the revolutionary BW Vortex pasteurizer, earned the Army-Navy “E” Award and more! She led the organization for 24 years until stepping down in 1951.

High Five recognition: John Odegard and David Hyska of PCMC

Congratulations to PCMC engineers John Odegard and David Hyska for receiving the High Five Award in recognition of their customer focus and technical execution to help support the sale of three bundling machines to a major customer. Know someone else who deserves one?

In December, Machine Solutions team members competed in the The 2021 Laughlin Tough Mudder in Flagstaff, Arizona (USA). The arduous event included trekking through 10 miles of sand, mud, freezing water and more! Machine Solutions, a part of BW Forsyth Partners, is a provider of advanced equipment and services for the medical device, biopharmaceutical and blood and plasma collection industries.

Winkler+Dünnebier (W+D), part of the BW Converting Solutions platform, offers a wide range of highly efficient, integrated system solutions for the mail, postal, tissue and hygiene industries. Founded in 1913 by Alfred Winkler and Max Dünnebier, W+D has grown to over 450 team members spanning three countries: Germany, Malaysia and the United States. Frank Eichhorn (pictured right) is the Managing Director of W+D. Brands include POEM, Halm Industries, BICMA, F. L. Smithe. Marjorie Chapman Scholarship 2022 applications are due next month

Marjorie Chapman, the late mother of CEO Bob Chapman, has made college scholarships a reality for many BW team members’ dependent children. In the 2021-2022 academic year alone, the scholarship program awarded 20 new scholarships and 22 renewable scholarships, totaling $216,500.
