CPO Rhonda Spencer speaks at UNLEASH Conference

In late May, Chief People Officer Rhonda Spencer gave a keynote titled “People & Performance in Harmony” and participated in a panel discussion about workplace talent trends to 1,500 human resource professionals at UNLEASH in Las Vegas, NV (USA). In a pre-conference article, Spencer shared BW’s perspective on attracting and retaining team members.

PCMC and Hudson-Sharp help customer outfit its new flexible packaging division

PCMC and Hudson-Sharp installed three machines for Aspen Press & Packaging, a Salt Lake City, Utah (USA) based packaging company. The installation of a flexographic printing press and two stand-up pouch machines significantly widen Aspen's range of packaging solutions for clients.

Design Group (DG) recognized by Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast

Earlier this month at an annual supplier event, Coke Beverages Northeast, Inc., headquartered in Bedford, NH (USA), recognized DG team members for going above and beyond for their business. For over 35 years, DG provided consistent services, outstanding communication, and successfully completed multiple projects.

Envista launches construction consulting practice in Australia

Envista Forensics, a global forensic consulting firm and part of Cor Partners, announced they will launch a national construction consulting practice out of their Sydney office. While Envista has been a leader in forensic construction consulting for decades, their construction practice has not had a large footprint in Australia, until now.

BW Papersystems diversifies manufacturing capacity in Germany

Over the last few years, BW Papersystems has significantly grown its customer base in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions. With this growth came the need for enhanced offerings to EMEA customers, not just in service and after-sales support, but also reducing lead times for the supply of new equipment. The solution: increase flexo converting equipment manufacturing by diversifying current manufacturing and engineering capacity in Hamburg, Germany, in addition to Baltimore, MD (USA).

Envista Forensics announces Neil Goodrich as Chief Innovation Officer

New Chief Innovation Officer, Neil Goodrich, will develop and refine Envista’s technology roadmap and step in as Program Executive for the company’s ongoing digital transformation initiative. Prior to joining Envista, Neil was Chief Information Officer/ Chief Innovation Officer at M. Holland Company, a leading international distributor of thermoplastic resin.

Effective listening is very challenging. We inherently try to prove to the person speaking that you heard their message. Instead of "sort-of" listening to people, we can choose to listen skillfully by learning the five listening behaviors.

Recognition: Norbert Fromm of BW Papersystems

Congratulations to Norbert Fromm of BW Papersystems (above, left) in Neuss, Germany for receiving a High Five for not only his technical expertise and knowledge, but for having "the gift of reaching out on a human level." The nominator describes Norbert as having an ear for any concern, takes time to reach a goal-oriented solution, regularly proposes creative approaches and helps his fellow team members to better master their daily work. Know someone else who deserves to be recognized?

BW Papersystems (BWP) team members recently honored Tim Sullivan, BW Board Member and former Group President of Paper and Converting, by renaming a little league baseball field after him as a way to honor Tim in his retirement after 32 years with the organization. The playing surface, now aptly named Sullivan Field, is located in Phillips, WI (USA), headquarters to BWP.

Leadership Alliance, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri (USA) and Chapman & Co.'s first acquisition, focuses on data-driven talent identification and development practices. They combine science with insightful expertise in talent acquisition and development to help select and develop leaders. Karen and David Weller (pictured below) are the founders. David Weller says, “Together, we are solving a key need for business leaders through an end-to-end talent approach centered around the basic principle of treating people well.”
