Recently, 16 leaders from around the globe gathered at the BW Learning Center in Phillips, WI (USA) to reevaluate our recognition and celebration programs to ensure they still have the same impact as before, and how they can be improved. Baldwin's AMS Spectral UV gets Solutions Magazine cover story

BWFS warehouse team celebrates 1,000 injury-free days

Big congratulations are in order for the BW Flexible Systems warehouse team in Duncan, SC (USA) on achieving 1,000 days with no injuries in their facility. At BW, we are not only committed to providing a culture where safety is more than a priority, we consider it a company value. Our objective is to ensure that every life we touch arrives home healthy, safe and fulfilled. Way to go, Duncan warehouse team!

BWP's ServoPro is first of its type to be installed anywhere in Europe

BWP customer Icierre Pack srl, a producer of corrugated packaging located in northern Italy, recently invested in the ServoPro 16.28 rotary die-cutter, the first of its type to be installed in Europe. The machine was even purchased without seeing it in real life due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A long relationship, trust in the sales team and a great collaboration experience were among the reasons Icierre Pack chose BWP.

Above you read the warehouse team at BWFS in Duncan, SC (USA) reached 1,000 injury-free days. The safety of BW team members is a global priority regardless of the cost. For example, in 2003, when workers compensation costs were skyrocketing, a team gathered to find a solution and write a new vision for safety. The results were immediate.

BWIS' Heather Spitler promoted to Vice President of People for BWPS

Heather Spitler, the new Vice President of People for BW Packaging Systems, joined BW Integrated Systems (BWIS) in 2019 as their Director of People and in 2020 was elevated to Vice President of People. During her time with BWIS, she became a trusted and strategic partner to the division’s leadership team, supporting the business's key initiatives. BW named first-ever Vice President of Supply Chain Operations

Nicholas Detrych joined BW as Vice President of Supply Chain Operations. Nick will focus on driving process improvements in daily procurement operations across BW and partner with the divisions to create tighter linkages between material planning and sales, inventory and operations planning/ MCR processes. He will also implement new productivity and analytical tools and build out our strategic procurement playbook.

Podcast: CEO Bob Chapman urges healthcare organizations to care for their caregivers

In a recent call with healthcare industry leaders, it was brought to light that due to high demands on their time by regulatory agencies, the government, etc., caring organizations have no time left to care. Bob Chapman challenged this notion of how caring organizations don't have time to care on the Hope for Healthcare podcast with Dr. Katie Cole (pictured above, right).

Video: How behavior tendencies & DISC can help you see someone

In BWU's interpersonal communication skills training course, Listen Like a Leader, we learn that often when we engage with people, we can make the mistake of seeing people through our own lens and not seeing them as they truly really are. As a result, we fail to realize that others’ needs, hopes, fears, etc. may be very different from our own. This is the paradox of behavioral tendencies.

High Five Recognition: Nadja Ruch of BW Papersystems-Hamburg

Congratulations to Nadja Ruch (left), of BW Papersystems in Wedel, Germany, for receiving a High Five from President Neal McConnellogue (right)! In the nomination, Neal credits Nadja for her effort, dedication and focus on delivering components to a customer during a critical time. Nadja's regular visits to the customer to support the relationship, connection with each team to understand specific needs and consistent communication helped drive priorities and meet all demands. High Five Recognition: David Berg of Winkler+Dünnebier-Lenexa

Congratulations to David Berg of Winkler+ Dünnebier (W+D) in Lenexa, KS (USA) for receiving a High Five award! David is their Customer Service Representative who specializes in W+D's tooling product group. The nominator explained that David is a true example of exceptional customer service. He goes above and beyond to get customers the products they need to keep their businesses moving forward by following up daily, confirming any shipments or delays and more. Recently, BW Converting Solutions (BWCS) aftermarket and other leaders from across the globe got together at the Čačak, Serbia site to further develop BWCS's connected aftermarket network. Over 150 team members across five continents and ten locations are solely focused on customer aftermarket needs. The BWCS platform consists of PCMC, STAX Technologies, Winkler+Dünnebier, Hudson-Sharp and Northern Engraving.

Culture & People Development Team changed to People Team

Years ago, BW decided to call its “Human Resources” function Culture & People Development to demonstrate the caring culture of BW and the vision for the team. Over a period of time, however, it became abbreviated to CPD, which is not as clear to team members and external audiences. Now, to more clearly reflect the work they do and the many lives they touch, Culture & People Development Team is evolving its name (and titles for many on the team) to the simple and straightforward People Team. No more confusing acronym!

Using your Workday credentials, log in to the Learning Center and search for one, or all three, of the new eLearning modules that interest you: A Guide to Effective Meetings (cut down on unnecessary and unproductive meetings), Time Management (discover what effective time management is and how it helps juggle responsibilities) and The Secret of Skilled Delegation (learn why you should delegate, how to do it and more).

NEW TECH TIP

Turn on Dark Mode and Night Light to avoid headaches and eye strain!

To apply Dark Mode, go to Settings > Personalization > Colors. Select "Dark" as the default Windows and/or app mode. This dims your screen, making most of your apps and features show white text against a black or gray background. To turn on Night Light, go to Settings > System > Display and flip on "Night Light", a blue light filter that makes your display use warmer colors at night to help you sleep better and reduce eyestrain.
